Helping hand
I got to cook with one of my kind and generous friends at his home this afternoon. It was a wonderful opportunity. I'm very grateful for the circumstances for myself that I've been able to arrange, but it's pretty basic, and I've cooked for months now with one pan, one pot, one knife with a loose handle, no 1-cup measuring cup, few other utensils, and a limited pantry, so being transplanted to a sparkling clean dream kitchen with a full pantry and complete compliment of kitchen gear was pretty dreamy. And I got to rest my brain a little from having to take total responsibility for coming up with something.
There was enough to review that I want to wait until tomorrow when it's not late to break it down and analyze. I was also sent home with more food than I can remember in an itemized way so I'm also waiting until tomorrow to take better inventory. I don't think I'll have to buy much of anything more for the week, and in fact, since I'll be out of town for a time starting Saturday, the goal for this week is to furiously cook through everything!
I can't wait!
