Journeying Through Food in Love

It's freeeee

I didn't really learn a whole lot about cooking today, but I certainly did re-learn the value of a good free hotel breakfast. Such a spread as I had never seen, this morning, and it's only a Hampton Inn!

Lunch/dinner was served by the wedding I went to. Classic and good American fare. Turkey, roast beef, etc. The biggest culinary takeaway, I suppose, was the cake. I mean, sadly, we didn't actually take away any cake, because it was only for the bride and groom, but theeirrr cake was crème brûlée cake that the groom flamed with a torch before they ate it. It filled the reception hall with a delicious caramel-y smell. I am kind of inspired. Anything with flames is pretty cool. Don't know what my landlord/roommate would think if I started keeping benzene in the kitchen. But I was happy to have it put on my radar.

Tomorrow I am back to cooking for myself again. My fridge is still pretty full. That's a nice thing to be flying home to.
