Journeying Through Food in Love

Pizza ex machina

As usual, things were somewhat thinned out in the fridge and pantry today, with my money cycle not resetting until tomorrow. I need to start thinking in advance about how much of what I want to left for Sunday so I can pace it out. Though perhaps I already am pacing it out. I'm not exactly gorging the rest of the week.

I pitted and cream-cheese-stuffed my last Sukkari dates and brought them in my bag to Mass with me so I could have them on the bus on the ride home, which I did, which was delicious. I am running a bit ahead of the butter curve this week so when I got home, I could toast my last free bread roll in a liberal amount of butter. SO good. There is nothing quite like bread! Later I reheated the half of carrot porridge that I didn't finish on Friday, squeezing a little lemon in there to brighten it all up a bit after it got so serious (you know, how porridge gets) being in the fridge for two days. It was also really good.

And then, pistachio ex nihilo, another generous soul (I have always been fortunate to know many) treated me to pizza AND an unbelievable pistachio-and-ROSE croissant from (cover your eyes) Starbucks Reserve.

What a croissant, and what a Starbucks!

Tomorrow is back to the grind but also, hearteningly, back to the store. Can't wait to see what that renders.
